Financial Policy

Patient Fees and Billing

Payment is due at the time service is rendered, unless other arrangements have been made in advance before your appointment.  We will happily provide you with the cost of charges for any procedure upon request.  If you have dental insurance, you will be required to pay your estimated co-pay at your appointment.  We do collect the full fee of an “Evaluation-Only” appointment, regardless of your insurance.

For your convenience, we accept checks, cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and CareCredit.  If you have any dental insurance, we will be glad to complete the proper billing forms and file them on your behalf, provided all information required by your insurance company and its policy has been received by us.  We are preferred providers for  BlueCross BlueShield NC and Delta Dental PPO.  Unfortunately, we do not bill to health insurances, Medicare and/or Medicaid, or Humana.  We provide you with an itemized statement if you wish to submit a claim.

Please remember that dental insurance is considered a method of reimbursing you, the patient, for fees paid to the doctor and is not a substitute for payment.  Some insurance companies pay fixed allowances for certain procedures and others pay a percentage of the charge depending on your insurance company and your policy with that company.

We will collect any estimated deductible amounts, co-pay, and/or any other balances not estimated to be paid for by your insurance company, at the end of your visit.  We will provide you a receipt of services rendered, the cost per procedure, your payment, and the amount, if applicable, of what we expect your insurance company to reimburse us.  If your insurance company reimburses us more our estimate, we will automatically issue you a refund check after all treatment is completed. If your insurance company reimburses less than what is estimated, we will send you a statement for the remaining balance.

If your insurance company does not accept an Assignment of Benefits (mails payment to you instead of us), you will be required to pay the full fee for services provided at your appointment.  We will be happy to still bill your insurance and help you collect the insurance check to be mailed to you.

Please Note: It is your responsibility to pay for all fees charged by this office regardless of your insurance and what your insurance company does not pay for due to your specific policy and limits.

CareCredit picks up where insurance leaves off.  For your convenience, we accept CareCredit.  CareCredit gives you flexibility and convenience when managing out-of-pocket health and dental care expenses.  Use it for medical or dental care, cosmetic treatments, or trips to the veterinarian. You can even use it for co-payments and deductibles.  For more information regarding CareCredit, click here.
